Daytona Optos Technology
The Daytona is the third generation Optos technology and has made vast improvements in quality compared to its predecessors. The technology allows for high resolution laser scans of 82% of the retina. Paired in conjunction with a comprehensive examination, the Daytona epitomizes the latest in technological eyecare developments. The Daytona imaging allows us to create a comparable scan to allow for the detection of subtle changes in eye health. This will aid in the early detection of any pathology within the eye.
When it comes to your eyes, we believe in providing the best service possible. That's why we invest in the latest technologies and make sure that our staffs are trained in the latest and greatest. Here are some of the cutting edge technologies that you will find at our office. |
Refractive Technology
Auto Ref/Ker WaveFront Huvitz HRK-7000A
The HRK-7000A Wavefront auto refractor/Keratometer is the newest generation instrument from Huvitz. This model combines the features of an auto refractor, auto keratometer and an aberrometer into one convenient-to-use instrument. The HRK-7000A is based on the Hartmann-Shack principle and focuses on measuring second-order aberrations, which result in myopia or hyperopia and regular astigmatism. Because correcting second-order aberrations has the highest impact on acuity, which is the eye's ability to distinguish object details and shape. The HRK-7000 leads better understanding for patients' eye conditions since it graphically shows the second-order aberrations including myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. In addition the wavefront maps can be printed out. This machinery helps in the accuracy and assessment of the prescription for both glasses and contacts. |
Refractor Huvitz Digital HDR-7000
HDR-7000 realizes advanced refraction test with cutting edge-digital technology providing more precise exams with various vision tests covering more basic to more sophisticated ones. The digital refraction test aids in the final assessment of your glasses and contact lens prescriptions. It is much easier to demonstrate your old prescription with your new prescription so that you may see for yourself the changes from year to year. |
Screening Visual Field
Matrix Visual Field
Peripheral vision is just as important as central vision. The Humphrey Matrix Visual Field allows for a screening of the peripheral vision to determine if there is a presence of possible glaucoma. A screening visual field test is conducted annually for routine comprehensive vision examinations. If there are possible defects additional testing may be necessary using the Humphrey Visual Field analyzer to compare to age matched norms. |
Digital Ocular Imaging Technology
CR I Mark II Non-Mydriatic Digital Retinal Camera
The Canon CR-1 Mark II Digital Retinal Camera epitomizes state-of-the-art non-mydriatic imaging technology with dramatically reduced brightness, improved overall comfort, and significantly shorter exams. For patients having non-mydriatic retinal exams, the bright flash can be unpleasant. CR-1 Mark II focuses on reducing patient stress to provide comfortable retinal exams by significantly reducing the flash intensity. Because retinal exams play an important role in screening for major illnesses, the ease of examining provided by the CR-1 Mark II supports overall healthcare for people. A baseline retinal photo will be taken at your initial visit at no charge to aid in the management and diagnosis of ocular diseases during your time at All EyeCare Optometry. |
HIS 5000 Digital Slit Lamp
The HIS 5000 Digital Slit Lamp allows us to assess the front surfaces of your eyes with a lot greater care. It is a microscrope with digital imaging abilities that allow us to take a picture of any abnormalities such as scars, ulcers, red eyes, pterygiums, pingueculas and a host of other ocular conditions, document it and store it with your file as needed. Now you can see the microscopic images structures within the eye, its improvement and resolution as we treat any eye diseases! |
Specialty Technology Services
Humphrey Visual Field - Glaucoma Field Analyzer
The Humphrey visual field is a diagnostic device used to test a patient’s complete “visual field,” which includes the peripheral vision. The results obtained from the patient are then compared with those of the age matched normal population and the amount of damage is quantified. This quantified data allows for the early diagnosis and management of countless conditions. Progression is now easily monitored. This test is invaluable in diagnosing, and monitoring the treatment of patients with glaucoma, where peripheral vision irreversibly lost without symptoms until later stages. The Humphrey Visual Field is currently the gold standard for managing glaucoma. It is also useful in many neurological conditions and in conditions affecting the optic nerve of the eye, such as intracranial tumors, strokes or multiple sclerosis! |
Corneal Topography
The corneal topographer is important in the evaluation of irregular corneas. The cornea is the clear tissue or window of the eye. Due to certain eye diseases such as keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration or post surgical conditions like RK surgery or corneal transplant surgeries the eyes cannot be corrected with traditional contact lenses or glasses. Specialty contact lenses are often designed to create a new uniform surface for the eye to see better through. In order to do this, a corneal topographer is necessary to image all the different elevations. It is very similar to a geographic topography map.
